Lagos Oba's urges youths to evade nationwide protest

 


*Two days to the planned nationwide protest, Royal Fathers Sue's for dialogue as positive way forward to make their  feelings to the government of the state.*


Oba's in Igando - Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), on Monday  ratcheted up their appeal for residents to shun nationwide protest scheduled to commence  august 1st to 15th,  in response to the economic hardship experienced in the country.

The Oba's made the appeal at a stakeholders meeting organised by Igando - Ikotun LCDA, on the impending nationwide protest to address the issue of breakdown of  law and order in the Local Council Development Area.


They urged the youth to explore other means to demand answers to the problems in the country in the interest of peace.



Speaking at the meeting,  Onikotun of Ikotun, Oba Azeez Gbadabiu Asiwaju said the destructions that characterised the 2020 #EndSars protests were enough reason for youth  to shelve the planned action.

That there is a plan by some criminal elements to hijack the protest and cause unrest in the country.

In his part, Onijegun of Ijegun, His Royal Majesty, Oba Nureni Alani Akinremi, Olomitutu, Ilufemiloye, Kudeyibu 1, described  the reason behind the protest to be political motivated as the plotters desire to cause chaos and anarchy's in the country.

The chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers  (NURTW), Ikotun branch,  Mr. Sunday Ogunleye vowed that his members will not  participate in planned nationwide protests in the country.

That they have be given a directive  not to join any protest that will lead to violence in the state.
