Ramadan: Akinsanya sends message to Muslims

The executive chairman of Igando-Ikotun LCDA Hon. Akinsanya Ayinde Lasisi has urged Nigerian Muslims to offer special prayers, during the Ramadan, for greater peace, security, unity and rapid socio-economic development in the country.

This is contained in his speech delivered  at the  ramadan lecture organized by Akinsaya Foot Soldier at the council secretariat recently.

Akinsanya advised Muslims faithful to imbibe the virtues of love, peace, communal living, given and kindness during and after the remadan, which were qualities of Prophet Mohammed.

He called on  Nigerians to continue to demonstrate love, tolerance and peace towards one another.

In her own message, the deputy chairman of the LCDA Mrs. Mojisola Badmos also urged Muslim women to spread the culture of peace in their communities.

She called on the women to use the sacred month of Ramadan to demonstrate submission to the Almighty by upholding an important pillar of Islam through the observance of fasting.

That they should also engage in spiritual introspection and rededicate themselves to God.

Mrs. Mojisola Badmos also stressed the need for women to teach their children the importance of such virtues as peace, given and kindness.
