Maryland Royal Lions Club set to build 24 diabetic centres in Lagos
Lion Bukola Soaga Bada has been installed as the 4th president of Maryland Royal Lions Club, District 404-B2 Nigeria. An arm of Lions International.
The installation of the 4th club president and other board of directors for 2023/2024 Lions Services year and fundraising ceremony held at Igando-Ikotun LCDA secretariat on Saturday 27th, January 2024.
In her acceptance speech Lion Bada pledged to sustain the infrastructural development of the club, and perpetrate Lions Club as the country's biggest and one of the best in the world.
She stated that her tenure began with childhood cancer awareness, diabetes screening, sensitisation and donation of items to children living with cancer, youth empowering activity and empowered student of the OIC in Gbagada with skills and tools of trade.
"We have come this far but still need to finish strong. Therefore, our need to intensify effort to deliver another project in the pipeline, The construction of a 24 hour diabetic centre and borehole for our community."
The chairperson of the occasion, Lion Khadeejat M. Akanni-Allimi explained that the association has helped her members to imbibe the ability to love humanity beyond the physical borders of geography, race, ethnicity, religion, color or age and has built them to positively impact the world through community service.
Emphasising the importance of thanksgiving, the immediate past President, Ln. Olabisi Bakare Biobaku, " I give all glory and adoration to Almighty God for giving the privilege to be here today. For his mercy during and after my tenure.
"It is with profound joy and pleasure that I will be handing over to my successor, Lion Bukola Soaga-Bada."
